• Keeping arts in the schools: Bob’s Discount Furniture is pitching in for arts education with its Celebrate the Arts Contest. The company will sponsor a year of arts education at a middle or elementary school in each of the five states it does business in, which includes New Hampshire.
“Increasingly every year, we are finding the fine arts programs and cultural arts events being the first target for budget cuts in many school districts. ... Bob’s Discount Furniture wants to help these ailing arts and culture programs while trying to raise the awareness about its importance in the school’s annual curriculum,” said Cathy Poulin, pubic relations director for Bob’s Discount Furniture.
Submit a school for the contest at mybobs.com/celebrate_arts through Aug. 18. The selection is random from entrants that meet qualifying criteria in the online questionnaire.
