Stained glass, found objects, and ornaments

• Meet the artists: The Keyes Art Group was founded in 1957 by Mrs. Clinton McLane to promote the arts in the Milford area. The Frame Depot on the Milford Oval will be hosting their group holiday show from Dec. 5 through Dec. 23. Peruse photography, paintings, drawings, prints, cards and ornaments at the opening reception Friday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 227-2 Union Square, Milford, 673-2936. Sally Gordon Shea and Susanna Ries exhibit “Warm Winter Reflections in Glass and Pastel” at East Colony Fine Art through Dec. 23, with an opening reception Saturday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 55 South Commercial Street, Manchester, 621-7400. Dee Lessard of Manchester, owner of Dee’s Hair Fashions, has her first solo show of oil paintings at Amherst Town Library, 14 Main St, Amherst, 673-2288, through Jan. 3. Meet the artist Sunday, Dec. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library. For something really different, check out three-dimensional work using found objects at Currier Downtown, 52 Hanover St., Manchester, on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. This is a showcase of work created in the Open Studio program at the Currier Art Center by teens led by artist-in-residence Christina Pitsch, chair of the art department at Chester College. The work is for sale, and proceeds will help support Open Studio, which is tuition free.
• Learn or listen: This month’s free Art Bites lunchtime talk at the Currier Downtown will cover European and American Impressionism, on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 12:30 p.m. Bring your own lunch. Walter Wright of 119 Gallery of Lowell, Mass., will offer a lecture on “Postmodernism, Non-traditional Scores and Multimedia Performance” covering the history of multimedia performance from Dada, Fluxus and collectives of the late 1960s and early 1970s on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m., at the Revolving Museum, 22 Shattuck St., Lowell, Mass. A $10 donation is suggested. An independent literary magazine from Lowell, The Renovation Journal (renovationonline.com) is holding festivities for its fall issue release Saturday, Dec. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Revolving Museum. Pay $8 to attend the party. For something a little less intense, the Currier Downtown will host Celtic harpist Regina Delaney on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7:45 p.m. for museum shop browsing and music while children draw or read in the Currier Downtown’s family studio.
