Curtain calls

• Harmonious meal: See the guys in charge take the stage at The Majestic when The Cardigans kicks off a series of three dinner theater shows at the Manchester venue.
Tommy Hensel, executive director of the Rochester Opera House, A. Robert Dionne, founding director of the Majestic, and Jeff Caron staged Forever Plaid! last year and return with a similar revue, adding actor Jonathan Roth. Candace Glickman directs with musical direction by Jamie Feinberg.
The show is a sequel to The Taffetas. Chuck, Frankie, Johnny and Buddy have just graduated from the College of Wooster in Ohio, and are about to embark on their first tour. Their 1950s tunes describe their childhoods as the sons of Protestant ministers, lost loves and newfound fame.
Dinner by chef Matthew T. Morin will be served during the Feb. 9 and 10, 7:30 p.m., Cardigans performances. Tickets cost $27. Dessert only is served with the Feb. 11, 1:30 p.m. show and tickets cost $24.
Death by Chocolate, a murder mystery set at a health resort, follows, playing March 2 through March 4 at Majestic. Andrew Lippa’s jon & jen, a musical following family relationships in the 1960s and 1990s, finishes the dinner series March 30 through April 1 at the Majestic Theatre, 281 Cartier St., Manchester, majestictheatre.net, 669-7469.
The Rochester Opera House is presenting The Cardigans in partnership with The Majestic. It will also be produced Jan. 26 through Feb. 4 at Rochester, 31 Wakefield St., Rochester, 335-1992. Dessert will be served.
• Peruvian jungle in Nashua: Envision Del Vaudo’s, an Italian restaurant in Nashua, as the Blue Iguana café in a Peruvian jungle. Nashua Theatre Guild’s new murder mystery dinner show, Virginia Jones and the Inca Revenge, introduces the audience to Indiana Jones’ little sister, Virginia. She will discover what caused the avalanche that doomed the adventure, and if the expedition was looking for a lost Inca temple or Incan gold. NTG has also brought The Altos... Like the Sopranos Only Lower and A Deadly Briefcase to the restaurant, 112 West Pearl St., Nashua.
Catch Virginia Jones and the Inca Revenge Wednesdays, Jan. 24 and 31 and Feb. 7 and 28, at 6:30 p.m. Call 598-8007 for reservations. Salad, entree and dessert are included in the $40 ticket price.
• Top honors: The 5th Annual NH Theatre Awards Show is Friday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. Participating professional and community production companies act as jurors for the nominated performances. Awards will be distributed in various categories such as best actor and director in musical and non-musical shows, separated also by professional and community designations. The ceremony is at the Palace Theatre, 80 Hanover St., Manchester. Tickets cost $37.50.
