Make the rounds at Concord and Manch gallery openings

• Concord gallery crawl: See Nepal through the lens in “The Black & White Photography of Colin Nevins” at the Carriage House of the Kimball-Jenkins School of Art during an opening reception Friday, March 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit runs March 30 through April 6. Next, head to Gallery 205 at 205 N. State St. to see work from artisans commemorating the 75th anniversary of the League of NH Craftsmen. Also, see new paintings and sculpture by Gary Haven Smith at McGowan Fine Art, 10 Hills Ave. in Concord, also with a Friday, March 30, reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show ends May 4.
• New views: Amateur naturalist and birder Betsy Janeway paints outdoors on location. The Society for the Protection of NH Forests is showing her work to illustrate the crucial need for land protection at their gallery April 2 through May 14. Meet Janeway at a reception Friday, April 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Conservation Center, 54 Portsmouth St. in Concord. Janeway, of Webster, began painting in watercolor 20 years ago and was self-taught until she studied at the NH Institute of Art and various workshops.
Curators search all year to gather works by budding talent for “Procedure ~ An Emerging Artist Series” at Chapel Art Center, Saint Anselm College, 100 Saint Anselm Dr. in Manchester, 641-7470. The show runs March 30 through May 5 with a reception opening the exhibit Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery is closed April 5 through April 7.
Works by four of Hatfield Gallery’s most popular artists are featured in “Hatfield’s Greatest Hits.” Meet Nancy Healy, Darlene Robyn, Sally Newman or Nancy Brown on Friday, March 30, at a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at 55 S. Commercial St. in Manchester.
• Dead architects: The only residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in New England reopens for tours Friday, March 30. To book one, visit currier.org or call 669-6144, ext. 108. The Currier Museum of Art maintains the Zimmerman House, and tours leave from Currier Downtown. Tours are free for Currier members, and tickets cost $11 for adults and $8 for seniors or students. Currier Downtown, the museum’s storefront presence during its 18-month closure for construction, changes hours starting Saturday, March 31. It will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 10 to 3 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m., 52 Hanover St. in Manchester.
