• Gallery crawl: Art Concord is Friday, May 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., when many area galleries hold show openings on a single night so visitors can nosh with the artists. Downtown spaces Anderson-Soule Gallery at 2 Capital Plaza, McGowan Fine Art at 10 Hills Avenue, T. Devaney Fine Arts at 3 Pleasant St., and The Gallery at 2 Pillsbury will be open, as well as Franklin Pierce Law Center at 2 White St., New Hampshire Technical Institute at 31 College Drive and Millbrook Gallery and Sculpture Garden at 236 Hopkinton Road. • Meet the Artist of (last) Year: Robin Frisella’s nostalgic pastels and still-life paintings “A Sweet Sense of Warmth” are featured at East Colony Fine Art, 55 S. Commercial St. in Manchester in May. Frisella, an East Colony gallery artist, was named artist of the year in 2006 for Manchester Artists Association. Meet her at an opening reception Saturday, May 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibition runs May 2 through May 26.

• New art society: About 15 artists and arts supporters showed up for the first Hollis Arts Society meeting April 5 at the Lawrence Barn Community Center. They recorded their artistic interests on large pieces of butcher paper that reflected six major categories: visual, theatrical, literary, music, dance and therapeutic arts. The group is looking to have a regional reach and create a variety of arts programming.

• White Mountain exhibit extended: “Consuming Views: Art and Tourism in the White Mountains, 1850-1900,” has been extended through Oct. 8 at the Museum of New Hampshire History, 6 Eagle Square in Concord. It opened last fall and was supposed to close in May but the 37 landscape paintings got such a response that organizers want to catch the summer and fall tourist seasons. The exhibit explores the paintings from the region created as souvenirs and to attract grand hotel guests and other tourists.

• In-home art demos: Artisans will offer demonstrations and wares at three private homes in Dunbarton on May 4, 5 and 6 and Mother’s Day Weekend, May 12 and 13. Circle of Art includes the Dunbarton Arts and Gardens Festival on Route 13 in the center of Dunbarton, Artisan A-Faire and The Cat Show at Black Brook Gallery on 597 Black Brook Road in Goffstown.
