Art of ads; trolley makes a comeback; Keyes comes back

• Return of the trolley: Although the Open Doors Cultural Tour kicked off this year without the free trolley service between museums and galleries, the rides are back June 21. Three trolleys will circle Manchester from 5 to 8 p.m. thanks to program sponsors. Call 669-7469, or see majestictheatre.net. The Open Doors Cultural Tour is a community initiative of The Majestic Theatre.
• Commercialism: Manchester’s City Hall gallery is sporting photography and graphic design from Bedford’s Tracey Edwards ONeil advertising firm. Work by art directors and graphic designers Deborah Beaudoin, Andreé Cordella, Ray Iannuzzo and Lynne Morse represent TEO at “Art on the Wall at City Hall” through June 26.
• View from above and beyond: Massabesic Audubon Center is hosting a photograph exhibit through June 23 that gives current aerial and ground-based views of the trail Lewis and Clark took in 1804 to explore terrain between the Missouri and Columbia Rivers. David Saxe of USA Aloft, LLC, usaaloft.com, has taken images of flora, fauna and terrain from St. Louis to Astoria Oregon. The reception is June 2, from 2 to 4 p.m.
• Annual show: Founded in 1957 in Milford, the Keyes Art Group has held a regular outdoor exhibit the first Saturday in June. This year it’s moving indoors to the Amato Center and Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, 56 Mont Vernon St. in Milford, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Island time: Photographers, would you be interested in spending quality time in the Isle of Shoals? The New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists is offering two programs on Star Island, which has a conference center six miles off the coast of Rye. The weeklong digital photography workshop led by professional photographer Peter Randall is July 14 through July 21. It’s not a beginner’s program, and participants should be open to new approaches to making images and be familiar with their digital cameras. The group is limited to 20, and work will be reviewed each day using LCD projectors. There’s also a photographers’ retreat Sept. 13 through Sept. 16 on Star Island for 35 participants. Alex De Stieguer, Star’s winter caretaker and large format photographer, is the special guest; however, this is not a workshop. The retreat is meant for sharing images with other experienced photographers and viewing a variety of techniques. The landscapes, seascapes, sunsets and rises, wildflowers, historic architecture and marine and bird life offer plenty of subject matter. Visit nhspa.org or e-mail peter@perpublisher.com.
