• Watch while you eat: Fody’s Tavern has been host to several Cabaret De Boheme shows. The Nashua restaurant hosts more theatrical entertainment with Mayhem and Murder Productions’ Murder at Café Noir Wednesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. Along with the murder mystery show, the audience will be served dinner and dessert for $45. • Big and little: The Majestic Theatre is taking on Big: The Musical, a musical stage version of the 1987 20th Century Fox movie in which a teenager wishes he were big. He wakes up as a 30-year-old. Candace Glickman directs, with musical direction by Michael Gallagan. The community company closes the two-week run with performances Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at 281 Cartier St. in Manchester. The Majestic is also running a Summer Children’s Series Fridays at 10 a.m. The audience is involved for the musical medieval tale, Mystery of Queen Lake by Lesley Smith, Theatre of Life Puppets, July 18. The Secret Garden by The Hampstead Stage Company will be performed July 25. Children’s musician Steve Blunt entertains Aug. 1. Tickets cost $5, and children must be accompanied by their designated adults. Majestic underwent renovations this year after a shut-down to comply with city codes. They thanked donors and volunteers at a reception June 21, where they acknowledged in particular an Arthur Getz Foundation grant of $5,000 and a $2,000 grant by the Ann DeNicola Trust.
• For kids: UNH’s Little Red Wagon troupe was founded in 1971 and helped introduce theater education to public schools as a tool to support reading and learning. They perform for kids and families at about 70 venues each summer. The Little Red Wagon tour brings The Green Team Adventure! to UNH Manchester on Friday, July 18, at 1 p.m. Geared for children of elementary school age, the interactive The Green Team Adventure! focuses on issues connected with sustainability and the environment.
