• Try out: Fans of the Mel Brooks musical The Producers can try out for a production with the Actorsingers of Nashua. Actorsingers hold an information night about the community show Monday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m., at Actorsinger Hall, 219 Lake St. in Nashua. Audition there Sunday, Feb. 8, or Monday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. Roles are open to actors age 16 and older. Kathy Lovering directs, with musical direction from Judy Hayward and choreography from Valerie Psoinos of Nashua. Performances are in May at the Keefe Auditorium. The Community Players of Concord stage The Full Monty, an American musical version set in Buffalo, from April 30 through May 3. There’s an information night for interested actors Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Players’ Studio, 435 Josiah Bartlett Road in Concord. Boys and their parents meet at 6 p.m.; men meet at 6:30 p.m. for information; and everyone is welcome at 7:30 p.m.

• For the kids: When the Aviator lands his plane in the Sahara Desert, he meets a “little man,” who tells him about adventures around the galaxy, in The Little Prince, according to a press release. The Kids’ Acting Loft performs the play, based on the children’s book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Friday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 24, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at The Acting Loft, 516 Pine St. in Manchester. Kids’ Acting Loft is the Acting Loft Academy of the Performing Arts children’s educational wing, and features cast members between ages 5 and 12.
Riverbend Youth Company is putting a musical version of the Roald Dahl children’s classic on stage, Willy Wonka, Jr., Friday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. Riverbend is based out of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley and performs at Amato Center for the Performing Arts, 56 Mont Vernon St. in Milford.
