Where to eat on March 17

There are plenty of ways to have a good time and enjoy good food on St. Patrick’s Day. This year, March 17 is on a Tuesday so plan a little Irish dining with your revealry.
• One long-running tradition is The PLUS Company’s annual Wild Irish Breakfast, to be held this year (its 18th) at the Radisson Nashua Hotel. The Wild Irish Breakfast is the company’s largest annual fundraising event, with the proceeds used to empower individuals with disabilities and maximize their independence. Former Nashua mayor and blarney master Bernie Streeter, whose committee plans this event, will be joined by New Hampshire Governor John Lynch, Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, New Hampshire Republican Party chairman and former governor John H. Sununu, New Hampshire Democratic Party chairman Raymond Buckley, and Father Bob Guillemette of the Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua. The morning’s festivities end with a raffle for a trip for two to Ireland, courtesy of Citizens Bank Foundation; two roundtrip Southwest Airline tickets; and a Fuji Crosstown 24-inch hybrid bike donated by Goodale’s Bike Shop. • Celebrate at home (without having to do the cooking) by picking up corned beef and veggies from Angela’s Pasta and Cheese, 815 Chestnut St. in Manchester, 625-9544. Traditional Irish eats are on their menu of prepared to-go meals for Tuesday, March 17.
• The Barley House Restaurant and Tavern (132 N. Main St., Concord, 228-6363, www.thebarleyhouse.com) likes to toss out the regular menu on St. Patrick’s Day and feature some Irish classics, such as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, Irish sausages and their well-known Guinness beef stew. There will also be Irish-themed beverages to enjoy. The details are in the works, so keep your eye on their Web site.
• The Bedford Village Inn, 2 Olde Bedford Way in Bedford, 472-2001, www.bedfordvillageinn.com, will serve corned beef and cabbage in its Tavern on St. Patrick’s Day. The Inn also is running specials all month long, including a fixed-price three-course dinner menu that, the week of Sunday, March 15, through Friday, March 20, includes an Irish Cream Cheesecake as a dessert option.
• Belmont Hall (718 Grove St. in Manchester, 625-850, www.belmonthall.net) is having a corned beef and cabbage special from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for $10.99 (including soup or salad and dessert).
• Holy Grail Food and Spirits (64 Main St., Epping, 679-9559, theholygrailpub.com) will open early, at 10 a.m., to begin its first St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The restaurant will offer brunch specials, pub fare and authentic Irish dishes throughout the day, along with entertainment fit for the entire family. There will also be Guinness promotions and raffles for prizes that include a 40-inch Sony Bravia TV (raffle tickets are $10 with a limited amount available).
• The Black Pudding Rovers with Irish tenor Kathy Murby will play at Moe Joe’s (2175 Candia Road, Manchester, 668-0131). The restaurant will offer a St. Patty’s corned beef and cabbage dinner for $9.95 (including chocolate cake).
• Murphy’s Taproom (494 Elm St., Manchester, 644-3535, www.murphystaproom.net) will once again celebrate all day, starting with a breakfast buffet from 6 to 11 a.m. The rest of the day will feature traditional corned beef and cabbage and lots of live music.
• The Peddler’s Daughter (48 Main St., Nashua, 821-7535, www.thepeddlersdaughter.com) will open at 10 a.m. and serve an Irish breakfast. Music will start at 11 a.m. and go until 1 a.m. There will be a limited menu of Irish favorites, such as fish and chips, beef stew and corned beef and cabbage.
• The Red Arrow (61 Lowell St. in Manchester, 626-1118; 63 Union Square in Milford, 249-9222) will serve corned beef and cabbage all day for $9.99.
• Who says St. Patrick’s Day has to be all about corned beef and cabbage? Swan Chocolates (144 Main St., Nashua, and 436 DW Highway, Merrimack, 423-5950, www.swanchocolates.com) has created a couple of special treats for the holiday. One is an Irish stout truffle: The milk chocolate ganache center is flavored with Guinness stout and coated with a milk chocolate shell. The other is a St. Patty’s Day shamrock pop, which is a milk or dark chocolate lollipop colored with green and gold cocoa butter.
• There is even a vineyard with plans for the holiday. Zorvino Vineyards (226 Main St., Sandown, 887-8463, www.zorvino.com) plans a St. Patty’s Day March Madness Bash on Saturday, March 14. There will be dancing, specialty beers, specialty drinks and light appetizers, all for just $8 per person. The winery will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. just for this event so guests can try the new wines. The doors open for the event at 7 p.m. Reservations are required.
• Breakfast starts at 5:30 a.m. at the Wild Rover Pub (21 Kosciuszko St., Manchester, 669-7722). They offer an Irish breakfast buffet until 11 a.m. to benefit the New Hampshire Firefighters Association Pipe and Drum Corps for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Then corned beef and cabbage will be the special for the day, plus lots of music.
