Boomers
While there is no doubt that we can, will and must win this war, I pray that [for once] we can “just keep God out of it”.
I don’t think he approves of war. Not that he gets a vote. After all, he doesn’t have a seat on the United Nations Security Council.
It’s not that God’s a prude, or a party-pooper or anything. I just don't think he’s into this sort of thing. In fact, what I've heard is that he's kind, loving, tolerant, caring, benevolent, and...‘non-warlike’.
Not to worry though. His fine qualities and attributes won't stand in our way. Nothing [not even he] can stop us once we’ve stepped onto the path of “peaceful-destruction”.
But, before we launch the first strike, there are just a couple of things to remember about God:
He doesn’t like it when we kill each other. [He reserves that privilege].
He isn’t fond of people who use his name ‘in the name of war’. [And it doesn't matter what race, creed, religion, country, or crazed fanatical group they represent].
He does listen to our prayers.
Let us pray that God will watch over and protect our country, our leaders, and our soldiers........and, if time allows, maybe an innocent civilian or two in Iraq.
And, for anyone who still feels the need to use the words God and war in the same sentence, may you be "shot on the horse you rode in on". [Just kidding - feel free to distort God's message in any way that's helpful to your cause or political party.]
