Boomers
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a little boy who had no thoughts of his own...and the townspeople called the boy 'good'.
Then the boy grew up, and started to think on his own. He-thought-he-thought interesting and thoughtful thoughts...but the townspeople called the boy 'confused'.
When he became a man, he was truly different from all the others. He had different feelings, different illusions, and different delusions...and the townspeople called the man 'strange'.
So, the man left the 'little town' and went to the 'big city', where he found many 'good', 'confused', and 'strange' people. He fit right in, and made many, many friends.
Then, one day, while walking through the park, he noticed a little boy climbing a ladder that led to some high-voltage transmission lines. It was a summer day, just like this one, and the man could've kept walking, but his instincts told him to go after the boy.
By the time the man had climbed to the top of the ladder, the little boy had crawled onto a small platform and was leaning over to touch the electrified line. The man told the boy to stay where he was and to not move, but the boy was 'on a mission'.
Like a circus performer, the little boy leaped from the platform and grabbed onto the line. Fortunately it was the ground cable, but the boy was still in serious danger, dangling high above the ground.
The man knew that if the boy touched the 'hot line' that he'd be killed. And he knew that time was running out.
The man methodically crawled to the boy, and pulled him back onto the platform. Then, together, they slowly maneuvered their way back down the ladder to safety.
The crowd that had gathered cheered and applauded this heroic feat...and the townspeople called the man 'good' and 'courageous'.
And today, that man is leading the efforts to re-call Governor Gray Davis in California.
