The East Colony Fine Art gallery at Langer Place
on South Commercial Street will display the works of several artists,
many of them local, through July.
The line-up includes painters Georgina Bartholomew, Jo Anne Lussier,
Jane Romps and Richard Bergstom, and stained glass artist Susanna
Reis.
The featured artists are largely New England natives. East Colony
did a fine job assembling the display, selecting a wide variety of
mediums to catch the eye, including watercolors, pastels, oil on paper
and canvas, sculpture, charcoal and photography.
Attending a reception on July 13, Romps said she was thrilled with
the turnout of local art supporters.
"I'm always happy to see new faces in here," she said. "That
means that more people are finding out about us, and learning that
there is a talented arts community here in Manchester."
Some of Romps' watercolors featured Manchester scenes, including one
painting of Elm Street, featuring the storefront of McQuade's with
"Going Out of Business" signs posted on the front windows.
East Colony Fine Art at Langer Place, 55 S. Commercial St., will display
these works through July. The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information,
