Athens Restaurant: 31 Central St., Manchester; 623-9317. The real thing in Greek food, right downtown. Experience the old country without taking a nine-hour plane ride to Athens.

Souvlaki Pizza & Subs: 256 Bridge St., Manchester; 625-9354. Colorful personnel and delicious food highlight this no-frills Greek-oriented eatery. The pizza's good, too.

Lots of other places: It's worth mentioning that many of the city's pizza and sub shops offer Greek specialties such as lamb dishes, spanacopita, stuffed grape leaves, and homemade baklava on the side. They're always worth trying.
