Gambling is already big business in New Hampshire

When Rich “The Chalupa” Plante walks into one of the half dozen or so poker rooms in the state he enjoys the most, most of the people who have shared a table are on notice immediately.
It’s not that there is this movie moment where a hush falls over the room when one of the state’s semi-pros stops by, or that there is a respectful buzz from the management to make sure he’s happy and comfortable. That sort of thing only happens for the really big fish out at Foxwoods.

As the presidential primary closes in, many voters remain unsure of whom they will vote for. A political analyst for ABC News and Time magazine, Mark Halperin thinks he has the answer for you with his recently published book, The Undecided Voter’s Guide to the Next President. It includes long biographies of many front-runners in the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as shorts of the well-known but low-polling candidates. He has covered presidential campaigns since 1988.

Art: One more cause

No presidential candidates showed up, but five sent local emissaries to speak about their arts-related achievements and plans at the ArtsVoteNH Arts Policy Forum on Thursday, Nov. 29, in Concord. It was the first time the arts were addressed in such a way during a presidential primary, said David Macy, resident director for the MacDowell Colony.
