Pinings — Advice by Sherry HughesShould I Tell Him?
Dear Sherry,
Last year, I went on vacation with girlfriends and my boyfriend stayed at home. We had a really good time — too much of a good time, probably. I hooked up with a guy. It is eating me alive now—you know, that I was unfaithful and everything. I don’t know if I need to tell him what happened or not. I haven’t said anything so far, but every day I think about it and I feel guilty.
My friends say he doesn’t need to know. My mom says I should learn from it and move on.
My boyfriend and I have been together for two years. We don’t live together.
What should I do?
- Amber
Dear Amber,
Well first of all, if you tell many more people, you won’t need to tell your boyfriend because it will just get back to him.
I am not sure why you would tell him, unless it will make you feel better. You are the one who is in pain. Deal with it.
And your mother sounds like a smart woman. Learn from it and move on is good advice.
