Pipe Dream Brewing hosts first beer-pairing pig roast

Join Pipe Dream Brewing in Londonderry as they kick off the summer with a beer-pairing pig roast barbecue on Thursday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Dinner will include five pig courses, each paired with a different Pipe Dream brew.

The brewery has done a variety of themed beer pairing dinners in the past, but this will be its first pig roast and first dinner partnering with Messy Mike’s Barbecue and Catering of Derry, which will be smoking the pig onsite at the brewery.
“We were talking with Mike [the caterer] a couple weeks ago, and he was saying, ‘How cool would it be if we did a pig roast, but instead of just a barbecue, we also paired it with beer?’” Tori Bacheller, brewery co-owner and event manager, said. “So that’s how it started, and we’re very excited to be doing this for the first time.”
Guests will have the option of sitting outside or inside the brewery’s brewpub. Once seated, they will receive a menu of the evening’s courses and beers, and the first course will be served. Each course will feature a different part of the pig along with sides and unlimited four-ounce pours of the paired beer. After the final course, the chef will come out to talk with guests about the pairings and answer any questions they may have. There will also be an opportunity to purchase growlers of the beers highlighted in the dinner.
“It’s going to be very relaxed,” Bacheller said. “Whether people had a great day or a bad day, this is a place where they can come escape for a while and just hang out and have fun.”
